Een warm welkom op deze website
(en natuurlijk ook in mijn atelier)

A warm welcome on this website
(and of course also in my workshop)

I am an artist-blacksmith working in iron. My friends know me as "Soroush". That is because I was born and grew up in Iran. Now I am living in lovely Holland. I learned smithing and forging in Iran and some of my work shows distinct Persian influences. However, I also like being inspired by Jugendstil. I particularly love stylized figurative work with themes taken from art, and from vegetation and the animal world. But, to be honest, I make work in other styles, too. I very much like experimenting with mixing different styles to obtain new and fresh shapes.
My work is created by hand following totally traditional methods. It therefore shows all the characteristic features of being handmade. My creations are unique. I usually design them myself. From time to time, I am inspired by others.
